Dr Sumantra Ray
Dr Sumantra Ray (Shumone) is a Medical Doctor as well as a Registered Nutritionist, with special interests in Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Nutrition Education. He works as Senior Medical Advisor/Scientist at the Medical Research Council’s Human Nutrition Research Unit in Cambridge, UK www.mrc-hnr.cam.ac.uk. Dr Ray was previously a Senior Clinical Research and Teaching Fellow at The Institute of Cardiovascular Research in Dundee, Scotland. He also held an NIHR Public Health Fellowship and was a Corfield Scholar at Selwyn College, Cambridge. He is currently Chairman of the “UK Need for Nutrition Education Programme” (NNEdPro) www.nnedpro.org.uk and also co-established the Nutrition Education Review Group at the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine www.medschl.cam.ac.uk. Dr Ray is also an Honorary Senior Clinical Fellow in the Department of Medicine at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge www.cuh.org.uk.
Glenys Jones works as a Nutritionist in Health Communications at the Medical Research Council's Human Nutrition Research Unit in Cambridge, UK www.mrc-hnr.cam.ac.uk. She has a Degree in Nutrition from the University of Surrey and a Masters in Sport and Exercise Science (Physiology) from the University of Chichester, where she is also completing her PhD in Nutrition, Health and Performance. Glenys has acted as a Nutritionist and Science Advisor for the media and has papers published on a range of nutrition and activity issues. Glenys provides independent, authoritative information on a range of nutrition topics.
