Batter fried chicken in a hot sweet sauce tossed with honey and sesame seeds.
Preparation Time: 20 minutes Cooking Time: 10 minutes Serves: 3-4 Ingredients: 2 chicken breasts
1 tsp red chili powder
1egg white Salt to taste 1½ tbsp oil For the sauce: 1 tbsp tomato ketchup 1 tsp red chili sauce 2 tsp vinegar 2 garlic cloves minced 1½ tbsp honey ½ tbsp oil 1 tsp chopped spring onion greens for garnish
Cook the chicken thigh in boiling water for 4 minutes. Remove and immerse in cold water immediately. Refrigerate for 20 minutes.
Remove the chicken and pat dry. Cut the chicken thigh into thin long strips ( ½ cm thick).
Make a batter of the egg white, flour, salt, corn flour, red chili powder with little water as required.
Dip the chicken sticks in the batter and deep fry to a golden color. Remove.
Heat a heavy bottomed vessel, add oil, and add the garlic and sauté on high flame for few seconds. Add the red chili sauce, tomato sauce and vinegar and combine. Add the fried potatoes and toss for a minute on medium-high flame. Add the honey and toss the contents till well combined. Turn off heat.
Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and garnish with spring onion greens or coriander leaves and combine.
