Malai Kofta Curry

‘Soft as cream’ dumplings served in a thick creamy curry sauce.

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Cooking time : 20 minutes

Serves: 4



Recipe Ingredients:
For the Koftas:
250g Paneer
200g Potatoes
1tsp coriander powder
½ tsp red chili powder
½ tsp salt
1 cup Flour for rolling

For the Sauce:
2 large tomatoes, diced
2 large onions, diced
200g Tomato puree
1tbsp ginger garlic paste
2tsp coriander powder
1tsp cumin powder
1 tsp red chili powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
1tsp garam masala power
3 tbsp cashew paste
4 tbsp Cream

Salt to taste



Method:

Boil the potatoes till done. Peel the potatoes. Mash the paneer and potatoes together and add salt to taste and mix well it should be smooth like dough. Divide the mixture into 12 parts and roll into smooth balls Roll the balls in the flour.  Deep fry the balls in hot oil and set aside.
Heat 2tbsp oil in a pan. Add the diced onions and saute till translucent.
 Add the ginger garlic paste. Sauté the ginger garlic paste and add the powdered spices and tomatoes.
 Saute till the tomatoes are just soft. Add the tomato puree and saute for another 2 minutes. Remove from fore and cool.
Blend the cooled mixture into a smooth paste and pass Pass the sauce through a strainer to get a smooth sauce.
Put the pureed curry back in the pan. Add 1cup water and bring to a boil. Simmer for 4-5 minutes.
Add the cream and mix.
Season with salt and pour the sauce over the prepared kofta balls arranged in a dish. Serve hot.
