Eggless Chocolate Brownies

An eggless version of the favorite brownie served best with Vanilla icecream and Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 250 gm dark chocolate, chopped
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 150 gm butter at room temperature
  • 5 tbsp castor sugar
  • 1 tin (400g) condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped

Method:

  1. Grease and line a 10” square tin with baking paper.
  2. In a bowl mix all the dry ingredients- the flour, baking powder and baking soda and sieve thrice.
  3. Melt the chocolate in a microwave at 30 second intervals, beating after every burst till mixed well (2-3 times).
  4. Set your oven to heat at 180 C.
  5. In a large bowl put in the butter and the sugar and beat well with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Put in the condensed milk, buttermilk and the vanilla extract and beat again for 3 to 4 minutes.
  7. Stir in the melted chocolate and mix well.
  8. Mix in the flour and beat again for two or three minutes until all the flour is mixed into the liquid.
  9. Pour the batter into the tin, tap the tin once or twice to make the batter uniform, scatter the nuts all over on the top and bake for 30 minutes.
  10. Allow to stand for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.
  11. Serve warm with Vanilla Ice-cream and chocolate sauce.
